Truist supports teammates who build their families through adoption by reimbursing a portion of the adoption costs.
Full-time teammates with at least one year of service are eligible to take advantage of the adoption fee reimbursement benefit. Eligible teammates may receive up to $10,000 in financial assistance from Truist per adopted child, up to two adoptions per lifetime, following final disposition.
To qualify for this benefit, the child must be a new family member for both adoptive parents. Teammates who marry and adopt the child or children of their new spouse do not qualify for this benefit. The child being adopted cannot already be related to either parent by blood or marriage. If both parents are Truist teammates, there's only one fee reimbursement.
To be reimbursed, teammates must complete the Adoption Fee Reimbursement Form (PDF) within one year of the final disposition and submit it with receipts for fees they incur. Reimbursement will be paid on the teammate’s regular paycheck.
Qualifying adoption expenses include reasonable and necessary adoption fees, court costs, attorney fees, traveling expenses (including amounts spent for meals and lodging while away from home), and other expenses directly related to, and whose principal purpose is for, the legal adoption of an eligible child.
